Discover the new Map List feature available in Trackview. Follow this detailed guide which will provide a overview of this new feature and how to configure custom columns on the List view.
Click on the Map List Icon
While on the Locate screen - click on the List icon in the toolbar to swap over to the Map List View.
Map List with default columns & sorting
Now in the Map List view - the view is split vertically like some of the other views in TrackView. The left hand side displays the list of vehicle location information while the right hand side displays the Map and vehicle locations. Currently the Map List is displaying the default columns like Name, Time, Speed, ignition and Status. However these can be easily customised - which we will go into a little later in this guide.
Click Vehicle to Focus Map
When the List View is visible - we can click on any of the rows which will focus the map on the vehicles location. Select a Vehicle to continue.
Click "Region"
We can see that the Map is now focusing on the Location of the Vehicle we selected from the List. As a part of this release - we have also reworked how the baseline Filters work with filtering the Map. The Region filter will no longer be present if no Regions have been setup in the system - saving space in the Toolbar. Further to this - previously any interaction with the Region, Category or Equipment filter would result in the map requesting GPS data from the Trackview backend. This has now been reworked so that the last call is locally stored and filtered quickly on the screen - allowing to jump between different Regions, Categories and individual Equipment more efficiently. Click on Region and select a value to continue.

Now that the Region filter has been applied - we can see the Map List has been filtered. Select the vehicle filter to continue.

Once a Region filter is set - the Category and Vehicle filters will then be filtered to only items with related information. If we then set the Category filter too - the system would then only provide vehicles in the list that match both filters. Select a vehicle to continue.

When the view is filtered to a Vehicle - the Map List and Map will reflect to the Vehicle filtered to.
Click "Options"
To Customise the columns in the List View - select Options from the Left Menu to continue.
Click "Locate List"
Navigate to Locate List.
Custom Columns and Sorting
Once in the Locate List section - two fields will be present - Columns and Sort By. Select Columns to continue.
Field available from GPS info and Vehicle
The columns field will display a list of available information that can be presented in the List View. You can select from a few key fields from the GPS data like Time, Speed, Heading, Driver, Status and then any field from the Equipment and Equipment Custom Fields. Select fields individually or select the checkbox next to the entries to quickly select items in rapid succession to continue.
Select Sort By
Once the Columns have been configured - select Sort By to configure which field you would like to sort the information by default.
Click "Time"
The Sort By list will only contain items that have been configured in the Columns list. If the Columns list is empty - this means that the Sort By columns will display the default columns available to choose from. Select a field to continue.
Click "Locate"
When complete - navigate to Locate.

Now we can see that the List View is displaying the custom columns and defaulted the sorting to what we previously have configured.
