This guide will walk you through configuring the Pre-Start interval in Kynection. By adjusting the settings, you can allow Pre-Starts to not be mandatory while still capturing Faults for Equipment, enhancing flexibility in your operations.
1. Pre-Start Chart in Dashboard showing Equipment requiring Pre-Starts for Completion
Within the Equipment Dashboard - there is a section dedicated to Equipment Pre-Starts. This will highlight how many Pre-Starts have been completed per day versus how many are still remaining. The 'Checklists to Create' is driven by the Pre-Start Interval that can be configured on a Equipment Category level. We can now configure Equipment Categories to not require Pre-Starts to be raised but still granting the ability for Faults to be raised against the Equipment since the Faults are driven by the Pre-Start configured against the Category. In the current example - we can see that we have 8 equipment total that require a Pre-Start to be completed.
2. Click on Categories
Lets review an Equipment Category. To Continue - click the categories menu.
3. Select an applicable Category
Select a Category to review - in this case we are going to review the Trailers Category.
4. Select a piece of Equipment
Select a piece of Equipment to continue.
5. Pre-Start Option available on Equipment
For this Equipment - we can see that the Pre-Start button is still available for us to use. The button may not be available if the Equipment Category has no Pre-Start configured. The other reason can be that the Category does have a Pre-Start Interval configured and the Equipment currently being reviewed has completed a Pre-Start within the previous Pre-Start Interval. For Example if the Pre-Start Interval was set to Daily and a Pre-Start was completed on the current day.
6. Click "Options"
Now to configure the Pre-Start Interval for a Category - click on Options.
7. Click "Categories"
Navigate to the categories section in the options menu.
8. Categories View howing Pre-Start Interval Configured
From the Categories View - we can see the Pre-Start Interval that has been configured for the Categories of Equipment currently available. Select a Category that you want to no longer have a Pre-Start Interval to continue.
9. Pre-Start Interval displayed with new Checkbox to for 'No Prestarts but allow Faults'
Against the Equipment Category - we can now see above the Pre-Start Interval when a Pre-Start itself has been configured - a new checkbox option is available - "No Prestarts but allow Faults". Selecting the Checkbox so that it is ticked will remove the ability for Equipment under this Category to raise Pre-Starts but keep the ability for Faults to be raised against the Equipment.
10. Tick Option On
Switch the setting to "on."
11. No Pre-Start Interval Option available
Now that the Option has been enabled - we can see that the Pre-Start Interval option has been removed.
12. Click here
Once complete - click on the tick in the toolbar to proceed back to the Category View.
13. Applicable Category now has Pre-Start Interval displayed as Never
We can now see that the Category previously adjusted will now have its Pre-Start Interval display as Never.
14. Click Categories
With the change made to the Category Pre-Start Interval - lets go to the Category to see the change in action. Click on Categories to continue.
15. Click on Category where Pre-Start Interval was modified
Select on the applicable Category where the Pre-Start Interval was modified. In this example it was the Trailers Category.
16. Select Equipment
Select any Equipment under the selected Category to continue.
17. No Pre-Start Option available
We can now see that for the Equipment under the Category where we have ticked the new option of 'No Prestarts but allow Faults' to On - that no Pre-start button is available - however the Raise Fault button is still present.
18. Click "Dashboard"
Now lets see how this option has effected the Pre-Start section on the Dashboard. Click on Dashboard to continue.
19. Checklists to Create count is now reduced
We can now see that originally we had a count of 8 within the Checklists to Create tag under the Pre-Starts section in the Dashboard. Now since we have configured the Trailers Category to no longer have a Pre-Start Interval - the 2 equipment under that Category now no longer require Pre-Starts to be completed and as such have been removed from any calculations for Pre-Starts in the Dashboard. This now leaves us with 6 Equipment that require Pre-Starts to be created based on their Pre-Start Interval configured.
This guide covered configuring the Pre-Start interval in Kynection, enabling the setup to allow Faults to be captured for Equipment without requiring Pre-Starts. By following the steps provided, you can tailor the settings to suit your specific needs effectively. Thanks for Watching.
