Explore how to customise the display settings in Assets M&S effortlessly. This guide will walk you through accessing different sections to enable default sorting for applicable views to create a seamless user experience.
1. Click "Options"
To start - click on Options from the Left Menu.
2. Click "Display"
Navigate to the display settings.
3. Display view updated to now segment sections
The Display View has been updated to now segment the different customisable views into sections - cleaning up the user interface and removing the need to scroll down to find the applicable view that you want to make adjustments to. Furthermore - additional view customisations can be easily added to this view - keeping things concistent and tidy.
4. Click "Equipment"
To start off - lets view the Equipment section.
5. New option - Sort By
Here we can see a new Option available for customisation - Sort By. Click the option to continue.
6. Sort By Columns showing only Default Columns
Here we can see a list of Columns that we can choose and have the Equipment List sorted by when being viewed. Since the Equipment view has no Custom Columns configured - the Sort By field will list columns that are present in the Default view. Select the applicable column from the list available to continue.
7. Click back
Once the Sort By field is set - click on the back button in the toolbar to continue.
8. Click Repairs
Now click on Repairs to continue.
9. Click Sort By
Select the Sort By option to continue.
10. Sort By only displaying Custom Columns selected
We can see that the Repairs View has Custom Columns configured - which in hand means that the Sort By columns available for selection are only these. Select a item from the list to continue.
11. Click back
After the Sort by column for Repairs has been selected and any other changes made - click the back arrow in the toolbar to continue.
12. Click "Prestarts"
Access the prestarts settings.
13. Configure Sort by
Configure the Sort By option and Custom Columns as required.
14. Click Back
After the Sort by column for Prestarts has been selected and any other changes made - click the back arrow in the toolbar to continue.
15. Click "Service Forms"
Access the service forms settings.
16. Configure Sort By
Configure the Sort By option and Custom Columns as required.
17. Click Back
After the Sort by column for Service Forms has been selected and any other changes made - click the back arrow in the toolbar to continue.
18. Click "Escalation List"
Access the escalation list settings.
19. Configure Sort By
Configure the Sort By option and Custom Columns as required.
20. Click Equipment
With the Escalation List configured - lets go through the different views to see the new sorting in action. Click on Equipment to continue.
21. Equipment Sorting by Project
From the Equipment view - we can see that the view is Sorting by the Project Column as this is what we have configured. When sorting is selected for a column - this will sort the table by this column in Ascending order - example A to Z. Now click on the Escalation List from the Left Menu to continue.
22. Escalation List sorting by Date Raised
In the Escalation List - we can see that the view is sorting on the Date Raised column as configured. As mentioned previously - since the sorting is Ascending - A to Z - this means that for any date fields selected for any view - this would for example display information from Past to Future. Click on Prestarts from the Left Menu to continue.
23. Prestarts sorting by Name
In the Prestarts view - we can see that the sorting is set to the Name column as per what was configured. Click on Services from the Left Menu to continue.

In the Servicing view - we can see that the view is sorting by the Date column as configured. Click on Repairs from the Left Menu to continue.
25. Sorting by Type
In the Repairs view - we can see that the view is sorting by the Type column as configured.
