This guide will walk you through configuring a variance limit for hour and odo capture in the Assets M&S Module. By following these interactive steps in Kynection, you can set up warnings for potentially incorrect entries seamlessly.
1. Click "Options"
To configure Odo and Hour entry variance - Click on Options from the Left Menu.
2. Click Maintenance
Click Maintenance to continue.
3. New section for Usage Variance
Within the Maintenance section - at the bottom there is a new section - Usage Entry (KM/HR). Within this section - there will be a Entry Variance field available for both KM and HR capture respectively. Initially both fields will default to 0 - meaning that the feature is effectively disabled. As a note - the variance is assumed for a daily difference between readings. This means that when the Odo or Hour entry is occuring - the variance will be multiplied by the Prestart Interval so that the variance can properly scale accordinly. An example of this is if the Prestart Interval is set to weekly - then the Variance will be multiplied by 7.
4. Click "Equipment"
Once the Usage Variance has been entered - select Equipment to continue.
5. Select Equipment
Select a piece of Equipment to continue.
6. Click Prestart
Once on a piece of Equipment - click on the Prestart button to continue.
7. Enter new Reading Value
We are currently on the Usage Entry screen. In this example - we have been prompted to enter a updated Hour reading. This is dependant on what Utilisation has been configured against the Equipment Category - either Kilometer, Hour or Kilometer and Hours.
8. Enter Hour Reading
In this example - we will be entering in 130 for the Hour reading.
9. Click "Start"
With the Usage Entry added - click Start to continue.
10. Warning that Entry is more than the variance.
We can see that with 130 Hours being entered - it triggered a warning about the variance for hours has been breached due to the difference in hours being 25 - which is 10 hours more than the configured variance being 15 hours. Since this is the daily entry - if this was done for a piece of Equipment that has a Weekly prestart interval configured - this 15 hour variance would be multiplied out by 7 and would read as 105 hrs. If the value entered is more than the previous reading like in the current example - the user can either click Ok to continue with the value entered. Or the user can click Cancel which will allow the user to enter the correct usage reading. Click cancel to continue.
11. Enter correct Usage Reading
Since we have opted to enter the value again - enter a valid entry to continue.
12. Click "Start"
With the correct usage entry entered - click on Start button to continue the prestart process.
In this guide, you learned how to define a variance limit for hour and odo capture in the Assets M&S Module using Kynection. This feature allows the user entering a usage entry to properly confirm their entries to avoid potential inaccuracies, enhancing data accuracy and management efficiency. Thanks for Watching.
