This guide provides detailed instructions on migrating Equipment Regions to Contact Regions in Assets M&S using Kynection. Follow the steps below to seamlessly complete the migration process.
1. Click "Options"
To begin - click on Options from the Left Menu.
2. Click "General"
Click on General.
3. New option to Migrate Contacts
As a part of this release - we have decided to make the move from Equipment Regions over to Contact Regions so that Regions are unified in the system and that there is no longer a disconnect between Contact and Equipment Regions. To aid with this - a new Migration button has been added in alongside the other options to assist with this.
4. Click "Migrate Tool Regions to Contact Regions"
Once the button is clicked - the process will attempt to find any Contact Regions that also have the same name as existing Equipment Regions and linked Equipment to these existing Regions. If existing Contact Regions are not found - then a new Contact Region will be made with the same name and any Equipment under that region will be updated to the new region accordingly. Click the button to begin the process. After the process has been completed - a popup confirming completion will be displayed.
5. Click Regions
Once the migration has been completed - click on Regions from the left menu to continue.
6. Regions Migrated
You can see that now under Regions - our Migrated Regions are displayed. To confirm this is the same for Contacts - click on the Company Logo / the hamburger menu in the top left to continue
7. Click "Contacts"
From the home screen - find and click on Contacts.
8. Click Regions
Click on Regions from the Left Menu to continue.
9. Contains pre existing Contact Regions + new Regions from Migration
Under Regions in Contacts - we can see all the current Regions available. In this example - the "Contact Region" was one that existed in both Contacts and Equipment - while the "Tool Region" was one that only existed as an Equipment Region prior to the Migration.
