This guide will walk you through configuring a new feature in Assets M&S that allows you to map tool repair custom fields to a specific repair status, ensuring they are only editable during that particular status.
1. Click "Options"
To begin - click on Options from the Left Menu.
2. Click "Repairs Custom Fields"
Navigate to the Tool Repair Custom Fields section.
3. Table view updated to include Status - meaning what Tool Repair Status the field will be editable in
The view has been updated to include a new column - Status. The status column displays which Tool Repair Status this particular field is editable on. If no status is present - than this means the field is always editable.
4. Click on a existing field
Click on an existing field or create a new one to continue.
5. Repair Status when field is editable
When editing or adding in a new Tool Repair Custom Field - next to Category is the Status option. That Status option has a predefined list what statuses are available from None to Draft, In Progress and Waiting for Parts. A Tool Repair Custom Field can only be configured to be editable on one status or all. Once set - this can be easily edited to either change status or make it editable on all.
6. Click Edit
We have transitioned over to a In Progress Repair item. Click on the Edit pencil to continue.
7. In Progress field editable
While this repair is in the In Progress Status - we can see that from earlier - the In Progress field is visible and can be edited since it was configured to be editable while the repair was In Progress.
8. Click "Waiting on Parts"
Click on Waiting on Parts to continue.
9. Waiting for Parts status field
We can now see that when the Tool Repair is in Waiting for Parts status - that the Waiting field is visible for editing as per its setup. Similar this would have been the case if a new Fault, Defect or Breakdown was raised and the Repair item was in Draft - then only Draft editable fields would be visible.
The guide covered the process of mapping Tool Repair Ccustom Fields to a specific repair status in Kynection, enabling you to control the editing permissions based on the repair status. Thanks for Watching.
