1. Click "Options"
To begin - click on Options from the Left Menu.
2. Click General
Click General
3. New feature for Project Site allocation
Under General - if the user has access to the KIM Projects module - a new option will be made available. This feature extends the Project allocation for Equipment to also allow for Project Site Allocation - which is useful for large Projects so that equipment locations can be better monitored and found.
4. Enable Project Site Option
Tick "Allocate to Project Site" option to enable the feature.
5. Click "Equipment"
With the Project Site allocation option enabled - there are a few different ways we can allocate Project Site information for Equipment in the Asset M&S module. For Web - we can do this: #1. in bulk either by the Equipment view. #2. Exporting and Importing the Equipment Excel file to the system which will create Project and Project site information if new entries are found. #3. Allocating directly on the Equipment itself Similar to Web - we can do this on Mobile: #1. When a Equipment NFC tag is scanned #2. When a Equipment QR code is scanned #3. Prestart is started #4. Against the Equipment directly. For mobile - NFC, QR Code and starting a prestart - these options have the ability to prompt and set the project by distance if enabled. This was the first option under General - above the Project Site option. To go over the Web options - begin by clicking on Equipment from the Left Menu.
6. Click "on"
From the Equipment view - we can perform bulk allocation of Equipment to a Project and Project Site. To begin - use the checkboxes alongside the Equipment to select the Equipment you would like to bulk update.
7. Click "Allocate to"
With the required Equipment selected - click on Allocate To from the toolbar.
8. Select Project from List
A list of Projects will be displayed. Select a Project from the list to continue.
9. Pane appears for Project Site Allocation
With the Project Site selected and with the selected Project containing Project Sites - a pane comes up to allow the user to select the Project Site that the Equipment will be allocated to. Click the Project Site field to continue.
10. Select Project Site
A list of Project Sites that are available for the selected Project will be displayed. Select a Project Site to continue.
11. Click "Allocate"
With the Project Site selected - click Allocate to continue.
12. Equipment Updated with new Project and Project Site Allocation
With the Bulk Allocation completed - you can see that the Equipment has been updated and the List view is displaying the changes made. Click on a piece of Equipment to continue.
13. Click "Leave Project"
Since the Equipment we have clicked on is already allocated to a Project - click on the Leave Project buttonfrom the toolbar to continue.
14. Click "Allocate"
Now that the Equipment has been unallocated - select the Allocate button from the Toolbar to continue.
15. Select Project from List
Select a Project from the list to continue.
16. Selected Project doesn't have Sites
In this example - we have selected a Project that has no Sites and as such - we are being warned about this. Clicking Ok or Cancel will stop the Project allocation from occuring - allowing the user to go and create the required Project Sites or to ask the applicable Project Manager to do this on their behalf. Click ok to continue.
17. Click "Allocate"
Click Allocate from the Toolbar again.
18. Select a Project from the List
Select a Project from the list to continue.
19. Same Project Site Allocation view as per before
Once a Project that has Project Sites is selected - the same view as previously shown when doing the Bulk approach is displayed. Click on the Project Site field to continue.
20. Select Project Site
Select a Project Site from the list to continue.
21. Click "Allocate"
With the Project Site selected - click Allocate to continue.
22. Project Allocation History
After the Project And Project Site have been allocated - we can see this information is reflected against the Equipment. If we need to see the history of when a piece of Equipment has been allocated to different projects or by who - we can review History Information by clicking on the History button under Equipment. Click the History button to continue.
23. Project Site available for display if enabled
In the History view under Equipment - the Project Allocation table has been updated to include the Project Site column if the Project Site allocation option is enabled. We can see the same Project Allocation history on mobile. Since Project Names can be a bit lengthy - the Project Site will be displayed as a part of the subtitle information on the list view.
