This guide will walk you through customizing the Repair Custom Fields in KIM, enhancing your tool repair processes with new features for Tool Repair Custom Fields. Follow the engaging instructions below to optimize your Maintenance data capture.
1. Click "Options"
Firstly, Navigate from the home dashboard to the equipment module, then select the options tab.
2. Click "Repairs Custom Fields"
Navigate to the Repair Custom Fields section.
3. Click the + Icon
From the current screen - you can see a list of existing Repair Custom Fields that have been created. Click on the Plus icon in the tool bar to create a new Repairs Custom Field
4. Enter Label
Enter the desired Label for the new Custom Field. In this example we will enter new defect field.
5. Select Type
Click on Type to be presented by a list of Custom Field Types
6. Select desired Type
Choose a Type from the list - in this example we are choosing text.
7. Select desired Category
From the List - you can select as many options as required for the new Tool Repair Custom Field. In this example - we have chosen to make this New Field available against Defects only. You can also choose to not select a Category which means that the new Custom Field will be available against all Tool Repairs.
8. Select Category
You can now configure Tool Repair Custom Fields to be only visible by the selected Tool Repair Category.
9. Mandatory Field
You can now configure Tool Repair Custom Fields to be Mandatory or Not. This means that in order for the Tool Repair - being a Fault, Defect or Service to be correctly Raised or Closed - additional checks will be undertaken to ensure that the user enters information in Mandatory fields. In this example - we have opted to not make this field mandatory.
10. Click here to go back
Click the checkmark in the Toolbar to finalise creation of your new Custom Field and go back to the Tool Repair Custom Fields list view.
11. Click the + Icon
Click on the Plus button in the Toolbar to create a new Custom Field
12. Enter a label
Enter a name for the new Custom Field - in this example - we have entered image photo - service
13. Select Photo from the List
A new Type for Custom Fields has been introduced being Photo. This allows you to configure a Custom Field for image capture - either from the Camera, Camera Roll or File System.
14. Select Categories if applicable
Similar to before - you can configure what Tool Repair categories this new Custom Field will be made available for.
15. Click "Services"
In this example - we have chosen that the new Photo field will be made available for Services.
16. Mandatory Field
As previously mentioned - we can now configure if the new field we want will be Mandatory or not.
17. Field is now made Mandatory
In this example - we have made that this new photo custom field will be mandatory for users while actioning Services in the system.
18. Click Checkmark
Click the checkmark to finalise creation of the new field and go back to the list
19. Table layout that shows new Mandatory field and allocation of Field to Tool Repair Categories.
You can now see the new fields that we have created - their types, which category of Tool Repair they belong to i.e Fault, Defect or Service and if they are Mandatory or not.
